Resum: Information and communication technology (ICT) is a well-recognized component of the well being any region. All visible trends show that future work opportunities and industrial developments will heavily depend on modem ICT. Regions that have a strong foothold on the new technologies and business concepts related to them are better off than areas without the needed skills and capabilities.It can be well said that our case city Turku is caught in the middle: too strong to be supported and too weak to manage by itself. This article focuses on the newly established local Technology Park: what can such an organization do?. An important contribution of our article is too that of describing the recent developments of the information society in Finland, which give the gross ramifications for the regional activities.
